Kharif crop season in India is completely dependent on the monsoon rains, the saplings which were planted sometime during June-July will be needing a good amount of rain in the coming few months to thrive. Even though there has been heavy downpours in some parts of the country, some areas are still suffering due to less water. And with the crops at this stage they need even more water for the root systems to develop, and also to suppress the growth of random weeds in the fields.
With the hopes of good monsoon rains this year.
